DOES DU BRIDALS OPERATE AND RUN IN NEW ZEALAND?

Yes, we are New Zealand owned and operated companyAll our designs are crafted in New Zealand and our fabrics are sourced globally from UK, France, Italy, India, China and all our dresses are hand crafted by our trained professional Ateliers, in Hong Kong.


DO YOU DO LATE APPOINTMENT HOURS?

Late appointment hours our out of our normal working hours however we do make exceptions. This can be requested with the consultant and a time can be organised.


WHAT CAN BE EXPECTED AT THE FIRST CONSULTATION?

  • We develop an understanding of what appeals to you.

  • Have a look at silhouettes, fabrics and colours that suit your needs.

  • Should you opt for a Couture/ Fusion bridal piece, then we will schedule a second meeting to finalise your needs and fine tune your ideas.

  • Should you choose a gown from our Bridal/ Bridesmaids rack that is suited to you, then the order needs to be placed with a 75% deposit.

  • The first consultation is a 60 minute FREE consult and all other consultations will be $35.00 per hour.


WHAT SHOULD I GET PREPARED AND BRING ALONG FOR MY FIRST CONSULTATION?

  • Browse through our online collections and select the images that appeals to you.

  • Not compulsory but if you can bring the following information such as a theme, location of your wedding, it will assist us in guiding you.

  • We would love to see any of your images or areas of inspiration you have sourced from fashion magazines and other wedding sources.


HOW SHOULD I GET PREPARED AND WHAT SHOULD I BRING ALONG FOR MY FIRST CONSULTATION?

  • We request you bring your wedding shoes or shoes of a similar heel height that you will feel comfortable to wear on your wedding day. So we can tailor your bridal gown to the correct length.

  • We also highly recommend you bring the undergarments you are to wear on the day.

The points below will assist you in selecting your undergarments appropriately:

  • All our gowns are well bonned and padded. You need to decide whether or not you choose to wear a bra with your gown prior to you making the order, as it will affect your bust line measurements.

  • Undergarments are key. We recommend skin coloured bras that will make a world of difference to the gown you wear.

  • For plus sized bra cups, we recommend you source appropriate foundation garments from specialists.

  • Good underwear, needs to be selected before the gown is made, the gown is cut around the undergarments, especially for fitted bridal gown silhouettes.


WHAT PAYMENT METHODS ARE AVAILABLE?

  • We accept direct bank transfer and cash. All payment methods, will be clearly listed on your invoice.


WHAT INFORMATION SHOULD I KEEP IN MIND WHEN ORDERING A DU BRIDAL, BRIDAL GOWN/ BRIDESMAID DRESS?

  • Book an appointment with us either through by registering online or contact our team @ DU Bridals on 0800 38 2743257. Our first 1 hour consultation is free and every consultation after that will be at $35/ hourfor a one on one consultation.

  • Find your chosen colour that closely matches any of our colour swatch cards.

  • Bring yourself/ your bridesmaids into DU Bridals if they are in Auckland and decide which styles on yourself/ them compliments your wedding gown or feel free to email us and we can get our consultant to assist you. These are filters on our website and information that can assist you too.

  • If you or your bridesmaids are out of Auckland and are unable to try on our styles, send us yours/ their most accurate bust, waist and hips measurements and we will be able to make the closest standard sizes. Any minor alterations can be made at your/ their local tailors/seamstresses.

  • Choose the gowns in the most appropriate fabric to suit yourself or your bridesmaids (which we will advise you on during our 60 minutes consultation in store)

  • Deposit of 75% is required prior to the making process for your off the rack bridal gown / bridesmaids dress.

  • The turnaround time for rack collections, bridal / bridesmaid dresses is 8 - 10 working weeks excluding Christmas and January.

  • Heel lengths need to be confirmed at the time of placing the order.

  • IF you would like your dress to be custom made to your height: then measure your height in (cm) from head to toe with shoes and also give us your measurement in (cm) from your waist (this is the smallest part of your waist) to your toes, with shoes.

  • IF you are extremely tall or petite, we can customise the length of the bridal gown/ bridesmaids selected from our racks. To do so, we recommend you contact our team by registering and emailing us queries@dubridals.com or contact our team @ DU Bridals on 0800 38 2743257

  • IF in Auckland, New Zealand: once the dresses have been completed, it will show up on your tracking line; fittings will be arranged through a booked appointment for customers based in Auckland.

  • IF based outside Auckland, New Zealand: your tracking line will indicate when your order is ready, with a tracking number below for your reference.

  • Make sure all of yourself/ your bridesmaids maintain a healthy weight and diet, ideally the same size as when you/ they have when they came in to visit our consultant and you placed the order/ at the point when you ordered online. Any fluctuations on weight and this will affect the sizing, DU Bridals will not be liable for.

  • If you/ your bridesmaids are planning to gain weight or get pregnant/will be pregnant on the wedding day, we strongly suggest you to order any bridal gown/ bridesmaid dress in a lace up for an additional cost of $80 per dress to avoid unnecessary stress and expensive alteration costs.


HOW TO CHOOSE THE CORRECT SIZE FROM OUR OFF THE RACK COLLECTIONS?

All dresses are made-to-order to sizes US2 to US24. They are not custom made to your measurements and will require alterations when necessary.

Look up our size chart and choose according to your measurements, even if the size recommended is not the size you may wear in another brand.

When between sizes, always order the larger size, as a dress can easily be altered down, but rarely altered up.

Professional measurements are recommended to avoid error.

DU Bridals is not responsible for inaccurate size ordering, or an incorrect size due to a customers change in size during dress production. Please email us if you have any concern about what size to order. Professional measurements are recommended to avoid error.


HOW TO BEST SELECT COLOURS?

We do our best to depict our colours on the screen but variations may occur when printed. Any variations you may see on your screen in selecting your choice in colour, DU Bridals will not be liable for.

For those customers who are based in Auckland, New Zealand, you can visit our consultant and see the colour cards and make a final selection from there.

However for all our other clients based outside of Auckland, New Zealand the registration process you are given one time to choose three colour options, for which small swatches of the selected three colours will be sent to you at a fee of NZD 40.00 (once the order is confirmed), from which you can make a final selection and advise us in one week (upon receipt of the colour swatches) before your order is processed.


WHEN WILL MY ORDER BE DELIVERED?

All the time frames given for Couture/ Custom Made/ Bridal racks/ Bridesmaids rack will apply from the time your initial deposit and colour confirmation has been received. To which you add the delivery time frames given under shipping depending on your location to give you an ETA on your order.


WHAT IS READY TO WEAR VS. COUTURE?

DU Bridals ready to wear lines (bridal rack/ bridesmaids rack) also known as pret-a-porter wedding dresses are of the same high quality as our couture gowns. While our bridal/ bridesmaid’s racks have a faster turnaround, and are created in standard sizing (US2 to US 24) so that you receive bridal gowns at more competitive prices. Our couture gowns (custom made gowns) are designed to your specification right from the fabrics, silhouettes to the embellishments making the prices vary depending on the fabrics, cut and embellishments you choose to use on the gown designed specifically to your needs.


WHAT IS THE DELIVERY TIME FRAME FOR COUTURE?

A couture dress is an artistic creation. It starts with your ideas and a beautiful illustration that takes into shape with the development of the silhouette of your design and add layers of fabric selections with embellishments if needed. It takes 2-3 fittings, for us to make your dress fit like a glove before we add all the embellishment and detailing to the dress. So a total of 5 months from the point the order is confirmed, deposit pad and colours confirmed.


WHAT IS FUSION COUTURE?

Fusion Couture, is where you mix the best of the west with the east in a bridal gown that resonates with growing intercultural marriages. We have amazing embroiderers and create custom designed embroidery pieces from textiles to garment pieces to give a gown that is culturally aligned with modern times.


WHAT ARE THE DELIVERY TIME FRAMES FOR FUSION COUTURE?

Fusion Couture pieces without any embroidery will have the same time frame as a bridal couture piece however a Fusion Couture Piece with custom designed embroidery will take 8 months, just to ensure the embroidery pieces will be matched to your requirements.


WHAT SERVICES ARE AVAILALE TO BRIDES WHO HAVE SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OR NEED SOMETHING CUSTOM MADE E.G. PREGNANT, EXTENDED PLUS SIZE?

In such instances we recommend you select our couture bridal option (which means to have a dress custom made) but we recommend that you call/ email us to discuss the size specifications because additional fess may apply because patterns needs to be altered to suit.
